The Guards

When I caught the guard unguarded

While strolling in our college campus, we once overheard a guard talking on phone, saying things about the college girls that really baffled us. He said that outside if you whistle on girls, it would be considered a misbehaviour, but here we are given whistles to actually do that and I regularly do it, and no one says anything. There are so many girls here, even foreigners (he said that looking at me as I had coloured my hair blonde) he said.

We are left at the mercy of these guards for our security – day in and day out. But, are we really safe with them around us? Are we really safe with anyone around us, for that matter? Aren’t we safer all by our self when we don’t depend on anyone but our own self? How do you know whom to trust and whom not to?
